Dinner: whole wheat pasta with sausage tomato sauce swagu. A lot of these ingredients are leftovers/the same stuff that I used for the breakfast burritos this morning because that’s what was in the fridge. This recipe is pretty customizable to whatever meat or vegetables you have on hand.
Recipe: dried pasta (whatever shape/type you want) half pound of Italian sausage one medium onion, diced one green bell pepper, diced 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced 28oz can of crushed tomatoes salt, pepper Italian seasoning red pepper flakes (optional) Remove sausages from casings, if needed. Brown in a large pot over med-high heat until almost done. Add diced onions and peppers, as well as the garlic. Add a dash of salt and pepper then cook until the vegetables are soft. Open the can of tomatoes and add it to the pot. Add a couple shakes of Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Reduce heat to med-low and cover with lid. In another pot, boil water and cook the pasta. When the pasta is done, the sauce should be done simmering.
This recipe makes a LOT of sauce (fed 3 people tonight with about one serving left over), so reduce accordingly if you’re cooking for less people and don’t want leftovers.
